MODERN TAILORING #THEGLITTERCRUMBWAY

So this month Farfetch asked a few bloggers globally to create an edit based on their editorial – The Modern Tailoring – so I sent them mine and I just got an email saying I won globally and got a Farfetch voucher worth 25,000 rupees #OMGWhat!

This is what I created, and what I sent them as my entry –

Inspired by the new Farfetch Modern Tailoring editorial

With falling temperatures we are back in a winter state of mind and it’s time to doll up in layers and try on new fashionable autumn winter trends that have set the fashion meters soaring this season.

So, inspired by the new Farfetch Modern Tailoring editorial which is dedicated to the Farfetch approach to tailoring for autumn winter 2016 / 17 and which ditches the rulebook, I have put together my own Modern Tailoring fashion collage, as you can see above.

After exploring and taking inspiration from the Modern Tailoring story and fashion edit which explores the designers, fashion items, silhouettes and the colors the Farfetch man needs to consider in order to adopt the new Modern Tailoring, I have created my own look for women using items from the Farfetch website that best adopts and is based on the Farfetch Modern Tailoring aesthetic.

With this new season, I wanted to create a fresh, fuss-free look, which as stated in the Modern Tailoring editorial is relaxed yet refined and is a perfect everyday look.

For this look I wanted to experiment with silhouettes, break away from minimal dressing so I decided that the one way, and the only secret to stay both – chic and warm this season is by layering. So I chose this camel cotton blend braced cape coat from Nehera which would give the look a sharp winter twist. I personally love the layering trend, and love capes as it is so versatile, is definitely the superhero of every wardrobe and with it the look reads relaxed yet polished.

Moving on, I decided to pair this cape with this classic, crisp white, roll neck, cotton ‘Blake’ shirt from Misha Nonoo which I felt should be a part of the new modern tailoring style since this classic will never fall out of style, it has finesse and reflects urbanity. I think the combination of camel and white is perfect as a light color palette is just right for a cool weather look for the season.

Additionally, I teamed the camel cape and white shirt with this dark green wool pleated high-waisted trousers from Haider Ackermann which complemented the whole look with its dark autumn winter hue. I feel these trousers redefine smart wardrobe staples, as its style and cut has a modern take on tailoring.

To further enhance this look, I decided to pair the outfit with a white calf leather ‘Rosalia’ shoulder bag from Dolce & Gabbana featuring a pebbled leather texture, gold-tone hardware and chain shoulder strap and white patent leather ‘Rockstud’ pumps from Valentino featuring a pointed toe, a high stiletto heel and light gold-tone Rockstud embellishments. The bag and shoes speaks luxury and balances the entire outfit.

Lastly, to accessorize a little more I added a brown brass and artificial leather ‘M1085 Glitter Turtle’ sunglasses from Cutler & Gross which enhanced the outfit with its glitter detailing perfect for the cold. Along with this I added an olive calfskin ‘Seventeen’ watch from Givenchy and a 18kt gold plated sterling silver claw cuff bracelet from Henson which together with all the other items with high brand value made this entire outfit perfect for the modern, urban women.

Below are the details of the entire look!
