What happens when two separate worlds of fashion and art come together? What happens when two high-impact, fast-paced industries join forces? What happens when fashion meets art?
That’s what happens.
Fashion has always been in love with art and art still continues its playful collaboration with fashion, and I personally have been in love with the both of them since my childhood. Be it shopping, dressing up, picking up a crayon and coloring or just simply doodling in my school textbook (well, who hasn’t done that?) or any piece of paper I find. Can’t imagine the day these little things won’t give me pure happiness, because I doubt that day will ever come.
I feel fashion and art help us survive the reality of everyday life, and if you put them together – fashion is an art form, an art of self-expression, an art of change, and a work of art that tells us a story. The joy of dressing up is an art, it’s a form of escapism where colors play an important role. Don’t they?
Fashion and art have been true allies, where fashion magazines have long turned to art for their editorial content and where artists have been fascinated and inspired by fashion for as long as people have been in love with clothes, which is a really long time.
Today, with the rise of the digital age, fashion and art have not only been changing faster but have also been reaching people in every part of the world at a great pace because of the digital world.
So, with this concept of “fashion meets art” in todays digital world, I decided to convert a few of my outfits on the blog so far into a work of art digitally, because I feel – when fashion meets art, fashion becomes art and we become the canvas.
The credit for all the insanely beautiful digital illustrations below goes to Naina Hussain, who is, as you can make out – beyond AMAZING. She’s a freelance graphic design artist and illustrator whose work you can check out here. My logo (which I love) is also made by her! Check her work out, you’ll love it! No reason not to ❤
