So earlier this year in the month of July, something GREAT happened and I want to share every detail of this with you’ll 🙂

If you’ll follow POPxo, Grazia, Swarovski, and Chambor, you’ll must have come across this Instagram post –

I did, and I was super excited to take part. Usually, I don’t engage in such contests, but this one was a whole new ball game, and had so much scope to learn from. After reading about what this entailed, I didn’t even think twice even though I was a new blogger with only one post up on my blog! But as they say, follow your heart, do what you love, work hard and everything will fall into place ❤

The winners of this event would get to check out the Paris Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2016, get to hang out with Nathalie Colin (Swarovski’s worldwide Creative Director) at her studio and interview her and would get to be Swarovski india’s official bloggers for 6 months, starting august 2015. Yeah, like that keeps happening!

So I quickly logged on to their website, read the rules, and emailed them my #Ootd, which was a photograph from my first shoot, and I patiently waited for the results. Okay, won’t lie. I was just the opposite. I was way to excited, impatient, and constantly refreshed my mail to know if I made the cut! A few days later, there it was – a POPxo article, and an email, telling me that I just did! This simply made my day –

Following that I got another mail which included further details of the contest –

Dear Nitika,

Congratulations! You have been shortlisted from Mumbai for Stage II of the Style Your Way To Paris Contest ’15. You and nine other bloggers will compete in an in-store styling challenge. The winner will team up with Mumbai mentor Aanam Chashmawala of WHAT WHEN WEAR for a face-off with two other teams from Bangalore and Delhi.

Please block yourselves for Friday, 17th July 2015. You have to be present at the Palladium Mall in Mumbai from 11.00 AM to 5.00 PM.

Contest Guidelines –

  • Pick one look from the two options. The 2 looks are The New Romantics and The Power Player.
  • Come dressed up in the theme of your chosen look.
  • Your task will be to style and accessorise your outfit with Swarovski jewellery available to you at the venue.
  • One Swarovski styling trend has to be the highlight of your look.
  • Winner will be selected on the 4 criterias –  adaptation of the theme, clever use of the Swarovski jewelry to enhance the outfit, innovation and individualistic style expression through accessories and overall understanding of the theme and description of the look.

You are contestant No. 6 🙂 Good luck!

So the day arrived, I was super excited, a little nervous, and to boost my confidence level I decided to pick the Power Player look! Where I wore a monochrome leopard print dress from Mango, a sheer black blazer from Madison, black handbag from Burberry, laser cut black suede heels from Clarks, a tassel belt from Style Fiesta and sunnies from Cupcakes and Closet. Along with this I went for a bold red color for my lips and nails and chose the earring, ring and bracelet stacking trend!

The event was well-organized, beautifully set up, and we were all spoilt rotten with a number of yummy desserts from La Folie and pampered with hair and makeup services from Chambor. The event went well, I had a great time, learnt ALOT and got to meet amazing people, who are no doubt a source of inspiration for many. Today I’m glad that I took part, and I still have glimpses in my head of the event from which I got to learn so much! These things should really happen often! It was truly an experience ❤

Here are a few photographs that I took in a hurry, between the fun-filled event that had so much going on.

Have a look! Happy viewing 🙂
