Photography and Editing: Done by me
I travelled to London in September 2016 for 3 months (as you must have known from my Instagram series – #TheGlitterCrumbTravelDiaries). I was actually supposed to be there for 3 years to complete my undergraduate degree in B.A (Hons) Fashion Marketing from London College of Fashion and you must be wondering why I didn’t and why I came back instead.
Before I left for London I completed my 12th grade from Hill Spring International School, got my IB Diploma and I then enrolled myself in a 3 month E-commerce Course from National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Mumbai. While doing this I was considering all my college options that offered me a course in business, fashion or both together, and no, I had no plans of going out of the country. After trying 2 colleges here in Mumbai and leaving them both, I got super super super restless and took a hasty decision and applied to London College of Fashion. I got in, my family agreed, they got everything arranged and without thinking twice I left.
So my mum came along to settle me in, I got the best and cosiest room in a student accommodation that we decorated together (the best part? my cousin was my neighbour), I had sooo much family nearby, many of my school friends were studying in universities near mine, my college and accommodation was centrally located near some of the best shopping and eating spots and my university had amazing faculty. Even though everything was perfect, I had class only twice a week with barely any work, I couldn’t sign up for another course simultaneously as that was the rule nor was I getting an internship, I found it so hard to blog there and to top it all – I was terribly home sick, not because I couldn’t cook, clean, make my bed by myself (which I could surprisingly) but because I just didn’t have much to do, had so much free time which i’m not used to and I couldn’t and can’t stay without my family for that long.
My life got so draining there, I used to cry all the time, literally more than I ever have, it was strange and I was just so so lost. So I decided to come back instead of wasting time or waiting for things to “get better”, my family understood and were so supportive like always, LUCKILY the university agreed to refund my tuition and I was back home. Back with the biggest smile on my face.
Since then i’ve completed my 1st year of Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) directly from Mumbai University since I came back mid-way, i’m in my 2nd year now, along with that i’m doing a 6 month Graphic Designing Course from the Indian School of Design and Innovation (ISDI Parsons), i’m interning at Vogue India under the Beauty Department for a few months and i’m building my blog (which you’re looking at right now) on the side. I’m currently scared, curious but also excited. Excited, for the new ❤
In between all this chaos I decided to explore the city and even though i’ve been to London twice before, I had such a fun time as it was a whole new experience! Here are a few photographs that I took for you to see!
Have a look! Happy viewing 🙂
Exciting new posts coming soon! And I would love feedback!
Until next time,
